Rev. Robert H. Ross

The Rev. Robert H. Ross has accepted the invitation to become the Dean of the Maine School of Ministry. He received his Masters of Divinity from the Bangor Theological Seminary in 2013 and was ordained by the Oxford Union Association in 2014. Bob was called by the West Parish Congregational United Church of Christ, Bethel, to be the Associate Minister of Community Mission at Grace Street Ministries, Portland. He serves as one of the co-pastors at Grace Street.

 

Bob grew up in Ohio and in 1968 graduated from Dartmouth with a B.A. majoring in philosophy. He received a Masters of Education from Harvard in 1973 and a PHD in sociology from Yale in 1987.

Bob has broad, deep and varied experiences of teaching, researching and developing programs in the area of public health. He has served on research, clinical and teaching faculties at Harvard, Tufts, the University of New England, Wellesley College, the University of Vermont, and the University of Bologna, Italy. He has a working knowledge of French and Italian. And he has extensive experience in writing grants and in building “start-up” programs.

Bob lives in Waterford, Maine with his wife Patricia. They have two sons: Kayvon and Elliott; and two daughters: Iris and Aizhan.
